The Chinese local traffic can only be guessed at asking of

five miles a length of ninety miles and a proportion of four hundred

to the mile to goods yield should be $180,000 per annum. Now as this

would mean that each passenger travelled fifty miles and therefore

180,000 by 50 the number of passenger miles,
